I can't even remember a single thing about Dade other than the fact I felt sorry for him when he said that Boone is Cody's favourite because he saved him first. Quinn just came off as weak, too weak to be able to deserve any of this, plus the fact her husband died was just randomly chucked into the mix which was never mentioned again. The plot just kind of overshadowed any characterisation and build up of the relationship.
